  1. There are over 3000 species of snakes
  2. Snakes have often only one functional lung
  3. Some Snakes have vestigial claws where their legs used to be
  4. Some snakes are venomous and dangerous while some are not and generally more docile.
  5. Snakes live in most areas of the world including in the ocean and at high elevations (16,000 feet)
  6. Ireland, Iceland and New Zealand are all known to have no native snakes living on their islands
  7. Snakes grow my molting
  8. King Cobras are known to eat other snakes
  9. With the exception of boas all non-venomous snakes can be considered non-life threatening however may still be dangerous if startled or attacked.
  10. Some Snakes like Boas only need to eat once or twice monthly.
