Snakes
- There are over 3000 species of snakes
- Snakes have often only one functional lung
- Some Snakes have vestigial claws where their legs used to be
- Some snakes are venomous and dangerous while some are not and generally more docile.
- Snakes live in most areas of the world including in the ocean and at high elevations (16,000 feet)
- Ireland, Iceland and New Zealand are all known to have no native snakes living on their islands
- Snakes grow my molting
- King Cobras are known to eat other snakes
- With the exception of boas all non-venomous snakes can be considered non-life threatening however may still be dangerous if startled or attacked.
- Some Snakes like Boas only need to eat once or twice monthly.
